Fall Poetry Class/UNCA Great Smokies Writing Program

What is Found There: Poetry as the Art of Discovery - "You cannot get the news from poems, yet men die every day for lack of what is found there," William Carlos Williams wrote. Writing into what you don't know - or what you don't know that you know - can produce surprising, fresh, and interesting poems. In this class we will discuss techniques and strategies as we explore new ways to approach and revise poems. Using craft-based exercises, students will write a poem each week and discuss the work in class. The class is open to beginning and experienced students.
